MedModel is creating a community of patient models interested in receiving aesthetic treatments.

The community is captured in a detailed, searchable database that provides medical aesthetic practices the ability to fill training needs for specific and available models.

The database will give them a tool to grow and optimize their business in a way that’s never been done before.

Training injectors today...

Currently, injector training is limited since providers source models through personal social media, despite needing a diverse range to meet specific demographic requirements.

Several examples of social media posts for people looking for models.

Importance of a qualified model

Finding great models is a top priority for our training program. The educational benefits of a great training model translate into all aspects of the training experience and beyond. Finding high-quality training models takes time, communication and lots of logistical planning.

I started as a new injector about six months ago and have only injected around 7 models with fillers since. When searching for models for trainings, I am often looking for specific features to make sure I have well round experience. At times, it can be difficult to find the right model. It is time consuming having to plan ahead to find the perfect candidate.

The Real Problem

Practices struggle to find training models, leading to ineffective injector training and increased costs.

Goal

Streamline model selection for injector training, enhancing effectiveness and efficiency.

Hypothesis

A dedicated model-booking platform will improve training quality and reduce costs.

Wireframe
Iterations

We shared wireframes with specialists who had recently conducted treatments to integrate their firsthand expertise directly into the optimization of our app's layout and functionality.

This feedback allowed us to identify what further details could enhance the booking experience.

It became clear that allowing models to include photos of various angles and expressions would significantly benefit the selection process.

Moodboards

We presented moodboards to aesthetic treatment clients, aiming to tailor our app's design to the preferences and expectations of those who value aesthetic enhancements.

Three examples of various mood board styles.

Choosing a Style

A brand is defined not by our words, but by how it is perceived and described by our customers.

Before conducting moodboard interviews, it was important to define our goals to shape how we’d like our brand to be perceived.

During interviews, we observed how participants’ descriptions aligned with our goals. The chosen style was the one that consistently evoked our brand’s intent effectively.

The "Modern Beauty" moodboard was chosen because participants described it as elegant, minimalistic, and refined, perfectly aligning with our branding goals.

Logo Exploration

Designed with the audience in mind, opting for styles that evoke elegance, sophistication, and a sense of luxury—qualities aesthetics clients value and seek in their experiences.

Model App

For potential models, a mobile experience was essential as it allowed them to easily take and upload photos from various angles directly from their devices.

Additionally, this flexibility facilitated real-time communication and faster decision-making, enhancing the overall efficiency of the booking process.

Provider Website

For providers, the focus on desktop and tablet experiences accommodated the detailed review and management of model profiles and scheduling.

This approach provided a more robust interface that integrated seamlessly with the management tools already in use within their practices, allowing for handling of complex tasks and effective multitasking.

Landing Iterations

One landing page test included a calculator, similar to Airbnb's, allowing potential customers to personalize figures, significantly boosting conversions more than any previous version.

Why This Worked

By addressing the challenges faced by both providers and models, MedModel delivered a comprehensive solution that streamlined the model selection process while enhancing the training experience. The integration of photo uploads and detailed profiles allowed providers to efficiently find models that met their specific demographic and training needs.

For models, the mobile-first approach offered an accessible and seamless way to connect with providers while receiving compensation through free aesthetic treatments valued at up to $600.
